In 1993, at the age of 21, he launched his iconic Virus radio show, which played a key role in shaping the early Roman techno sound. He spent the early millennial years working with Sandro Nasonte at Rome’s flagship record store, Remix. Together, they established the legendary Elettronica Romana label, which released some of Donato Dozzy and Giorgio Gigli’s first EPs. After moving to Berlin, Freddy K founded the label KEY Vinyl, championing raw, unfiltered sounds with a pure, no-nonsense ethos. An influential visionary, an electro pioneer, formidable producer and label owner, Anthony Rother has left an indelible mark on electronic music through his singular artistic legacy. For over two decades Rother aggregated a vast musical canon that reflects his unique career as a sound researcher exploring the aesthetics far beyond the boundaries of electro, techno and pop music. In 1998, he founded his Psi49Net, allowing him to keep his artistic independence and showcase his vision of electro that cultivated a unique storytelling approach guided by dystopian future visions of societal changes due to technological progress. His sets are direct crowd-galvanizers with technical and forward-thinking blends of grooves featuring loops of his production.
