November is Rome’s loudest month of the year. The Roma Jazz Festival hits 50, the Romaeuropa Festival plays its final weeks, and some of the biggest names in Italian and international music fill the city’s halls.
When the summer crowds leave and the evenings cool down, Rome moves its music indoors — and the calendar gets crowded. Here is what is worth planning a trip around.
The Roma Jazz Festival turns 50
The headline event is the 50th edition of the Roma Jazz Festival, running 1–24 November across the Auditorium Parco della Musica “Ennio Morricone”, Casa del Jazz and Alcazar Live. This year’s edition is dedicated to Miles Davis, marking 100 years since his birth, and it closes on 24 November with 100 Miles for Miles Davis, a large-scale tribute to the trumpeter who reshaped jazz more than once.
Expect a mix of legends and younger innovators, with a strong Italian presence. Sardinian trumpeter Paolo Fresu opens proceedings on 1 November at the Auditorium, and saxophonist Steve Coleman follows on 5 November (Romeing).
Romaeuropa’s final weeks
The Romaeuropa Festival, now in its 41st edition, runs until 15 November. It brings over 1,000 artists to around 20 venues across the city, with roughly 100 shows covering dance, music, theatre and digital art. The 2026 edition also celebrates 75 years of renewed diplomatic ties between Italy and Germany and 70 years of the Rome–Paris twinning, so expect a strongly European programme. If you only catch one thing, check the Mattatoio in Testaccio, the old slaughterhouse turned arts hub that hosts part of the programme.
